The Bishop ordinarily celebrates the Sacrament of Confirmation at our parish in the spring of 8th grade. Beginning in 2025, we will request that Confirmation be celebrated ordinately in the fall of 9th grade. Older students and adults in who have not yet received Confirmation also participate in this liturgy. Preparation occurs throughout the school year leading up to the liturgy.

Preparation Process

Preliminary Meeting and Paperwork

• Attend formation and information meeting 
  • Sunday, October 27, 9:05 AM in Oldenski Hall (St. Ferdinand)
  • Thursday, November 7, 6:30 PM room 205 at Holy Redeemer
• Complete online registration form with info needed to record the sacrament
• Choose a Confirmation Saint (see resource below)
• Choose a Sponsor and have them register here (see resource below)

• 8th Grade Faith Formation sessions (in-person or at home)
• 8th Grade enrollment in a Catholic School
• 8th Grade homeschooling with a Catholic curriculum
• Six Confirmation Prep at Home lessons (online review due by April 1)
• For older students and adults, customized formation plan involving video curriculum at home and in-person meetings/phone conversations

• Attend an Evening of Reflection, retreat, and/or LifeTeen events
• Complete a Service Project (no hours requirement)
• Submit a letter to the pastor
